    Business Development Leader, Quest/One Identity

     

    This is a unique opportunity to lead and enable corporate development and strategic partnerships across Quest Software and its affiliate One Identity (collectively, Quest), working collaboratively with the company’s five Business Units (BUs). Reports to the SVP of Strategic Initiatives.

     

    As a leading enterprise software company with 130,000 customers, including 95% of the Fortune 500, Quest has an opportunity to accelerate growth through strategic transactions such as acquisitions, GTM partnerships, and technology collaboration partnerships.  The Business Development Leader will have broad responsibilities researching, developing, and implementing investments and partnerships.

     

    Responsibilities

    This is a senior individual contributor role that will collaborate with BU leaders, product and marketing teams, and shared services leaders.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

     

    Acquisition Sourcing and Development

    • Partner with selected BU leaders to understand the BU strategy and provide market mapping, research, and sourcing for investments that complement or fill gaps in Quest’s BU solution portfolios.
    • Evaluate fit and vet prospects in partnership with Finance and BU leader, track status of inbound and outbound opportunities, and coordinate diligence activity across functions.
    • Establish, own, and continuously improve Quest’s processes to increase the velocity, quality, and efficiency of sourcing, evaluating, and managing the transaction cycle through close.
    • Define integration strategy in partnership with the BU executive sponsor and integration leader. Provide overflow and backup coverage for integration program leadership where needed.

    GTM Partnership Development

    • Partner with BUs to research and recruit GTM partners, including Global System Integrators.
    • Engage with prospective partners to interview, evaluate, and coordinate negotiation and agreement. Define and oversee the post-sign activities required to make partnerships productive.
    • Identify programmatic actions to improve the productivity of existing partnerships.

    Technology Collaboration Partnership Development

    • Work with BU product and architecture leads to understand their roadmaps and the profile of third party technologies that would accelerate roadmaps and add value to the customer base.
    • Research and recruit potential collaboration partners.
    • Engage in operationalizing new technology partnerships as needed.

     

    Qualifications

    • 10 + years marketing strategy, business development, go-to market leadership experience. Executive level overseeing and executing acquisition sourcing or M&A at a senior leadership level in an enterprise software business.
    • Software GTM or product management leadership experience, preferably with a SaaS provider.
    • Excellent teamwork, negotiation, presentation, and problem solving skills.
    • Strong verbal and written communication.
    • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in a relevant discipline preferred.
    • May require travel up to 50%.
