  • Overview

    The Sales Engineering Manager position is a quota carrying, team oriented and experienced sales engineering leadership role that manages the pre-sales field technical sales team members and leads technical activities for the development and implementation of complex and specialized products, applications, services and solutions. This role is required to partner with the ANZ Sales team and other functional stakeholders to support Quest ANZ business to achieve its business and financial objectives.

    1. Direct the efforts of others in the achievement of the strategic and operations of the Quest ANZ business.
    2. Manage the hiring, staffing and maintaining of a diverse and effective workforce.
    3. Responsible for career development, planning, performance and pay discussions of team members.
    4. Develop and execute sales engineering and complex specialist selling strategies and identify opportunities for process improvements.
    5. Provide technical expertise to sales organization in selecting, implementing and developing competitive product and services applications and solutions.
    6. Coordinate with account management team to make customer calls and presentations.
    7. Serve as an expert and subject matter expert on complex and specialized technical projects with customers.
    8. Manage escalations effectively.
    9. Work with the ANZ Sales leadership team to influence internal and external stakeholders in the interest of the Quest business.


    1. 10+ years of overall pre-sales experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
    2. 3+ years of managerial or leadership experience
    3. Strong ability to apply advanced concepts in the technical engineering filed to practical business problems
    4. Strong ability to communicate technical concepts, architectures and designs, program strategies, and tactics clearly
    5. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to establish mutually beneficial commitments and expectations with customers
    6. Strong communication and presentation skills
    7. Ability to coach, develop, and retain the team
    8. Identify and recruit top talent that is a fit for Quest
    9. Good understanding of customer and industry climate
    10. Strong level of solutions and technical knowledge
    11. Understanding of the functional responsibility and impact of driving business process improvements in line with the business strategy
    12. Must be able to travel as required by the company
