    Role Overview


    The candidate will join the development team of Foglight Core Platform and Foglight for Virtualization.  This team will be primarily responsible for building next-generation Foglight Core Platform and Virtualization Monitoring solution on top of Foglight. The candidates in this position are expected to have solid skills on Java, cloud platforms, micro-service architecture, database design for Foglight Core Platform, or have experience on virtualization infrastructure like VMware, Hyper-V, Openstack and KVM, and are fast learners with strong sense of new technologies.


    Foglight Core Platform

    We are extending the Foglight Core Platform to support data analytics, multi-tenant support and clustering scalability on cloud. 

    Foglight Virtualization performance management

    Optimize the configuration, performance and utilization of your hypervisors and guest virtual machines, as well as the applications utilizing them. Capitalize on extensive real-time monitoring, capacity planning and reporting capabilities for informed decision making.





    • Leads or participates in the software development lifecycle, which includes research, new development, modification, security, correction of errors, reuse, re-engineering and maintenance of software products.
    • Gathers business requirements and participates in product definition and feature prioritization, including customer usability studies.
    • Creates technical documentation of software products/solutions.
    • Drives idea generation for new software products, or for the next version of an existing product.
    • Responsible for the delivery of products within budget, schedule and quality guidelines.
    • Designs and develops major functional or performance enhancements for existing products, or produces new software products or tools.
    • Serves as mentor for junior engineers.


    Essential Requirements

    • BS Degree, good at OOA/OOD development standards and practices.
    • Virtualization Monitoring Developer
      • At least 5+ years’ development experience as a chief programmer in Java.
      • Have knowledge on virtualization infrastructure domains, such as VMware, Hyper-V, Openstack and KVM.
    • Comfortable working in Linux environment, and able to write Linux/Unix Shell script.
    • Experience of working in a team environment using source control management tools, such as CVS, SVN, or Git etc, knowledgeable of branching and merging strategies.
    • Strong ability to quickly perform proof-of-concepts for validating new technology or approach.
    • Strong ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, open mind, and demonstrated analytical thinking, adaptability, enthusiasm and motivation.



    • Experiences in virtualization infrastructure domains, as VMware, Hyper-V, Openstack and KVM, etc.
    • Experiences in other script languages such as: PHP, Node.js, Python etc.
    • Experiences in Cloud Computing Platforms like Amazon Web Services, Google App Engine, etc.
