Quest is looking for a Sales Engineer to support Selling. The sales engineer is the bridge between Japan/APJ (Asia-Pacific and Japan) and product managers and engineering in the US. Field feedbacks, problem escalation and country specific requirements are examples of constant HQ communication.
This position reports to the Manager, Sales Engineering Japan.
-Responsible for all technical sales of the Quest Data Protection solutions such as NetVault, RapidRecovery, vRanger
-Support partners, manage opportunities, customer visits, demo and proof of concept (POC), certification training, product updates, US HQ communication and troubleshooting.
-Pre-sales support to help sales to clear technical issues to close deals
-Propose solutions to address customers’ pain points
-Sell against competition
-Solution demo and proof of concept
-Problem escalation and follow-up to resolution
-Manage and support partners
-Training – both product updates and certification training
Technical Skills & Experience
-Enterprise Storage- Understanding of NAS, DAS, SAN and Object Storage, HDFS, RAID, software and hardware data replication along Software Defined Storage knowledge
-Enterprise Backup and Recovery- Understanding of top Backup and Recovery applications including Networker, Avamar, Netbackup, TSM, Data Protector, Commvault ,VEEAM, Asigara, Actifio , Quest NetVault as well as Disk and tape backup infrastructure and the purpose built backup appliance market.
-Virtualization Monitoring Solution - Understanding of Hybrid Virtualization Infrastructure Monitoring Applications like Solar Winds, VEEAM ONE, Multi-Cloud Orchestration & Monitoring
-Depth Understanding of key concept of de-duplication, compression, server-less backup, network flow & connectivity, performance metrics understating Disk I/O, CPU , Memory, network speed,etc
-Understanding of Enterprise archiving techniques and applications
-Cloud storage market and use backup/ DR cases - S3/REST, Amazon S3, Microsoft Azure Tenant/ Blob
-Virtualization - VMWare, Hyper-V, RHEV, Nutanix, Cloud computing
-Understanding Converge and Hyper-converge Infrastructure
-Enterprise network architecture
-In-depth experience on backup solutions for Heterogeneous Environments – Windows,Linux and Unix
-In-depth experience on backup solutions for Databases - Oracle,MSSQL,MySQL,DB2,Sybase,SAP, etc.
-Good presentation and communication skills
-Analytical and problem solving skills
-5+ years working experience
-Business Level Japanese (speaking and writing) and English (speaking and writing)
-BE / B.Tech / ME / M.Tech / MS / M.Sc / MCA
