    This role will report to the Senior Manager or Director of Tax Reporting and Compliance, and will be involved in in varied aspects of Quest’s tax accounting, reporting, and compliance operations.  Responsibilities of this role will be roughly split between income tax reporting/compliance and transaction tax compliance.   While Round Rock is the first choice for the location for this role, other locations will be considered for the right candidate, including other locations within Texas. 


    -Assist with the preparation of accurate and timely consolidated US GAAP quarterly and annual tax provision calculations, including preparation of effective tax rate calculations, tax balance sheet accounts, uncertain tax positions and footnote disclosures

    -Support quarterly review and annual financial audit procedures for domestic taxes

    -Prepare international components of the company’s financial statement reporting for income tax

    -Prepare tax returns and compliance for federal, state income/franchise tax returns

    -Assist in maintaining the tax return calendar

    -Prepare estimated payments and extensions, registrations, and other return processes

    -Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales & use, property and other transactional tax filings

    -Prepares sales and use tax prepayments

    -Analyze and prepare monthly tax payable reconciliations and adjusting journal entries

    -Assist in taxability determinations and prepare resulting journal entries for tax accruals

    -Monitors tax rates for all locations and timely communicates necessary updates

    -Draft responses and gather information in response to information requests for domestic tax audits, including state, federal income tax and sales and use tax audits, as they arise. Including analyzing and preparing responses to tax authority notices received

    -Support & monitor legislative activities, tax reform and the impact on the company

    -Assist with data requests for tax planning and special projects as needed


    -At least 1 year of experience in an accounting or tax department of either a public accounting firm or in industry

    -Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent from a college or university in Accounting


    -Software industry experience

    -CPA or CPA in progress

    -Experience with tax compliance and provision software such as OneSource and tax research software such as CCH, BNA, RIA is helpful

    -ERP systems for reporting and analysis (e.g. Oracle, HFM).Sales and use tax experience, including experience with Vertex
