Overview

Presales Systems Consultant (UKI) – Microsoft Platform Management

 

Quest Software has over 3,000 employees worldwide and is a global leader in providing solutions for database management, application management and windows management.

 

We are now seeking a Systems Consultant to join our Pre-Sales team, supporting our Microsoft Platform Management Solutions. In this position, you will be field based, providing both physical and remote support to our UKI customers, and will report to the manager for the region. Occasional travel will also be required.

 

Getting started:

You will quickly need to gain a clear understanding of the breadth of the solutions offered by Quest Software and working with the regional manager, quickly prioritise which ones you need to be familiar with first in order to begin adding value to the Pre-sales team as early as possible. You need to also become familiar with the marketplace within which we operate and with key customers in your territory. Building relationships, you will quickly establish credibility & a good working relationship with your peers in Pre-sales and Sales and begin gaining introductions to existing & new clients. You should ensure that you have learned key products sufficiently to feel comfortable delivering technical demonstrations on these products within your first quarter and begin working towards a level where you are able to deliver technical demonstrations on all products within your area of responsibility.

 

Within six months you should be fully conversant with the product portfolio within your remit and will be able to attend meetings and present any of those products.

 

 

Responsibilities

Key deliverables:

Within your first year with the company you will achieve the following:

  • Stand alone delivery of presales consultancy to customers;
  • Acting as technical advisor to our Sales people, listening to customer requirements and recommending appropriate technical solutions;
  • Taking the lead in product architecture meetings, product demonstrations and proof of concept workshops and presenting at seminars;
  • Creating your own lab environments for demonstration purposes.

 

This is an ideal role for some wanting to:

  • Take on responsibility for supporting the customers and sales teams in your region;
  • Balance the application of their technical knowledge and skills with their ability to communicate the benefits of Quest’s Solutions;
  • Contribute to team targets;

Qualifications

 

 

Requirements:

  • 3 years technical field background experience and strong skillsets with the following Microsoft infrastructure technologies:
  • Microsoft Active Directory (2000, 2003, 2012, 2016)
  • Microsoft Exchange (2003, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016)
  • SharePoint and Skype for Business knowledge desirable
  • Office365 and Azure knowledge desirable
  • Windows Server (configuration, administration of Microsoft infrastructure components such as Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
    • 5 years of enterprise IT solution design, implementation, delivery and/or operations
    • Microsoft certified professional
    • 2 years software pre-sales experience, focused on Microsoft technologies, direct work experience with third-vendors is a plus
    • Experience in Governance, Risk and Compliance concepts and practices with specific knowledge/experience in access governance, user activity monitoring and privileged access
    • Demonstrated ability to successfully and proactively execute activities: response to customer questions and RFP/RFI, product demo, trial evaluation and installation effectively communicating the business and technical value and architecture of large cross-domain technical solutions

 

Previous Quest Software product knowledge and previous consulting experience would be preferable.
