Quest is an award-winning IT management software provider offering a broad selection of solutions that solve some of the most common and most challenging IT problems. We are currently looking for a Business Applications Project Manager in our IT Project Management Office.


This role in the IT Business Applications team is responsible for managing a variety of IT and business projects, and driving business improvement and efficiency.  It is a critical member of the IT Project Management Office. The Project Manager is a cross-functional role, and will provide project planning and execution expertise for internal IT work and for requests from various areas of the business.  This role will define and drive initiatives related to implementation and improvements to business applications, and will lead diverse project teams through the full project lifecycle to meet Quest’s business objectives. Will be working with a variety of cross functional teams and business stakeholders.





  • Assigned projects and will be accountable for all project objectives as well as drive the work required to bring those projects to a successful completion
  • Follow project intake and execution standards, using defined Quest tools and processes
  • Provide project expertise to IT and various business areas, developing plans and gaining consensus and buy-in from project stakeholders and participants
  • Create and maintain appropriate project documentation during all phases of project work, including project plans, communication plans, budgets, resource allocation documentation, etc.
  • Create communication plans and communicate effectively through all project phases
  • Ensure proper project closure, including conducting lessons learned sessions and project artifact archiving
  • Work closely with project and business teams to manage IT and business project expectations and provide accountability for project success
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to ensure business pains are addressed and business requirements are properly addressed in defined implementation work efforts
  • Work with customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), business intelligence/data warehouse (BI/DW) and intranet/Internet/Web application projects
  • Manage the creation and documentation of business and user requirements, business process workflows and use cases
  • Manage the creation of application functional test plans and test cases from use cases for requirements traceability, IS systems testing, regression testing, application integration testing, performance testing and UAT testing
  • Anticipate project issues and take corrective action, escalating as needed, to resolve and meet commitments
  • Provide mentorship to other project management staff, where appropriate.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science or similar discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on IT project management experience
  • Energetic, motivated, and service-oriented
  • Very high level of communication and presentation capabilities, with the ability to develop trusting and open relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge and experience with enterprise-level business systems such as CRM, Order Management, Financials, Incentive Comp, etc.
  • Understanding of technical application concepts such as system integration, data migration, etc.
  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal communication, project management and business analysis skills
  • Experience in and understanding of different software development life cycles (waterfall, agile) and contemporary software quality assurance processes
  • Self-starter, analytical, problem solver and action-oriented. Can organize and manage their own work and work of others with minimal management attention and direction
  • Travel up to 25% may be required



  • Experience in software industry business applications highly desirable
  • Experience working with distributed/remote teams
  • Business Analyst background
  • QA experience for customer facing business applications
  • Experience with SCRUM and Agile SDLC methodologies
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Prior experience with effective communication across teams and business areas
