Quest Software is seeking a motivated & curious student to join our Cork office –based R&D team for a 8-month work placement. Our goal is to provide a meaningful learning experience that could lead to potential future employment upon graduation.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for the student to work together with a Quest Global R&D team on Microsoft Platform management products using emerging technologies and best practices. We are looking for sharp engineers with a strong passion for software development, who are looking to learn from the best talent in the business.

Responsibilities

As a Software Engineering Intern, you will:

  • Work on an R&D team building serverless, cloud-native SaaS solutions using the latest Microsoft Azure technologies and AI tooling.
  • Build commercial products that integrate Quest Data Solutions products.
  • Be an active member of an agile team, writing high-quality code that meets business requirements, with AI at the center for the Software Delivery Lifecycle.
  • Receive mentorship and participate in code reviews to grow your technical skills..
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to real-world projects.
  • Work with tools and languages such as node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, GitHub.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Currently enrolled in 3rd year of a Computer Science or related program.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language.
  • Generative AI experience.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML5, and web development frameworks.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies and version control tools (e.g., Git).
