Payroll Analyst, EMEA

 

Quest is looking for a Payroll Analyst to join the EMEA Payroll team, taking ownership of payroll operations for Hungary, Switzerland, Sweden, and the UK, with the possibility of additional countries in the future. 

 

You will be reporting to the Payroll Supervisor. This is a remote role from Hungary with occasional visit to the shared office may be required (approximately once every 1–2 months) to collect or scan mail if needed.

Responsibilities

Here's What You'll Do

 

As a Payroll Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the EMEA Payroll team. You will work closely with payroll providers, internal stakeholders, and the wider finance team to ensure payrolls are processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with local regulations.

 

  • End-to-End Payroll Processing – Manage the full payroll cycle for assigned countries, from preparing payroll inputs through to final payroll review and completion.
  • Payroll Coordination – Partner with internal stakeholders and external payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Data Management & Validation – Collect, prepare, validate, and submit monthly payroll data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Payroll Review & Compliance – Review payroll outputs, investigate discrepancies, and ensure compliance with local payroll legislation and company policies.
  • Payments & Month-End Activities – Support payroll-related payments, reconciliations, and month-end payroll journal activities.
  • Employee Support – Act as a key point of contact for payroll-related employee queries and provide guidance on payroll matters.
  • Vendor Management – Build effective relationships with third-party payroll vendors and ensure service levels are maintained.
  • Reporting & Analysis – Prepare payroll reports, maintain payroll records, and support auditing and reconciliation activities.
  • Process Improvement – Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and efficiencies across the EMEA region.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Management – Maintain accurate payroll procedures, training materials, and process documentation to support business continuity.

Qualifications

  • Experience working across the EMEA region, managing multiple countries and deadlines
  • Payroll experience (minimum 2+ years preferred)
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience working with payroll deadlines and monthly cycles
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership
  • Experience working with outsourced payroll vendors
  • Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities
  • Fluent in English and Hungarian

 

In compliance with the EU Pay Transparency Directive, the compensation for this role will start from 7,230,000 HUF annually. Actual compensation will vary based on experience, qualifications, and performance. If eligible, commission or bonus is governed by a formal corporate plan. Benefit offering is based on a country-by-country basis.
