Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Development Manager to lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-based software solutions within Quest Software’s Center for Advanced AI Architecture in Cork, Ireland. This role involves managing cross-functional teams, driving innovation in artificial intelligence and machine learning, and delivering scalable, high-performance applications that solve real-world problems. 

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of Software Engineers and Data Scientists to design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge AI solutions across industries. Drive innovation, ensure high-quality development practices, and align AI initiatives with business goals. 

 

Responsibilities

-Lead and mentor a team of Software Engineers, Data Scientists, and AI/ML specialists in developing AI-driven applications.  

-Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and stakeholders to define technical requirements and product roadmaps.  

-Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and design to testing and deployment.  

-Ensure best practices in coding, testing, and DevOps are followed across the team.  

-Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and technologies.  

-Stay current with emerging trends in AI, machine learning, and software engineering.  

-Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.  

-Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability. 

Qualifications

-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.  

-7+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years in a leadership or management role.  

-Proven experience in building and deploying AI/ML applications.  

-Strong understanding of AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and modern software architecture (microservices, containers).  

-Knowledge of frontend and backend development best practices 

-Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.  

-Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. 

 

Preferences  

-Familiarity with LLMs, NLP, computer vision, or recommendation systems.  

-Familiarity with MLOps and model lifecycle management.  

-Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced tech environment. 

-Strong architectural and strategic thinking. 

-Experience with cloud infrastructure and AI model deployment. 

-Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills. 

-Experience with cloud platforms (Azure is preferred, AWS, GCP)
