Quest Software is seeking a highly skilled Azure Developer to join our agile development teams, contributing to the design and implementation of cloud-native SaaS platforms. Our R&D teams are building scalable, secure, and resilient applications on the Microsoft Azure platform, focusing on both serverless and container-based architectures. 
 

This is a hands-on development role where you'll build commercial software that improves enterprise data management. You’ll work in a highly collaborative environment with team members across North America and Europe, using the latest tools and modern engineering practices. 

Remote - Candidate must be located in Canada

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Azure PaaS or IaaS services. 

• Contribute to both serverless and container-based architectures, depending on the needs of the product. 

• Implement robust and secure RESTful and GraphQL APIs using C#/.NET Core within a microservice environment. 

• Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (YAML preferred) or similar tools. 

• Leverage Azure PaaS offerings such as Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, Azure Storage, Azure Data Explorer, Event Hub, Service Bus, and Key Vault. 

• Collaborate within agile SCRUM teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. 

• Produce and maintain technical specifications and design documentation. 

• Ensure code quality through unit testing, mocking, automation, and integration testing. 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field. 

• 8+ years of professional experience in software development. 

• Proficiency with C#/.NET Core and backend application development. 

• Hands-on experience with Azure Functions, Docker, Kubernetes, and AKS. 

• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and API design, REST & GraphQL APIs. 

• Familiarity with DevOps practices including infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and automated testing. 

• Experience with NoSQL (e.g., Cosmos DB) and relational databases. 

• Excellent understanding of modern software engineering principles (e.g., SOLID, design patterns, agile). 

• PowerShell scripting, ARM Templates, Terraform, Bicep, and YAML pipelines. 

• Experience with claims-based authentication (OAuth, OIDC, SAML, MSAL), JWT, MFA, and RBAC. 

• Secure development knowledge: OWASP, SANS Top 25. 

• Prior experience working in a distributed, global development environment. 

• Ability to produce and document designs and specifications for new features and services 

• Experience in Angular or React, Typescript is essential 

• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills 

• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment
