We have an opportunity in our Southern India, based out of Bangalore for a motivated regional pre-sales consultant. The geographical coverage includes India, Sri-Lanka, Bangladesh.  The role will be responsible for supporting the sales team to understand, identify, demonstrate and close opportunities for our solutions. This will include the technical presentation, demonstration and POCs of solutions to customers and/or strategic partners.   Your technical experience and relationship management skills should enable you to assist the team in driving key initiatives and ensuring success of the business.


The sales engineer is the bridge between India and product managers and engineering in the US. Field feedbacks, problem escalation and country specific requirements are examples of constant HQ communication.


-Provide technical workflow, oversight and management during the sales cycle driving the needs assessment, requirements definition, presales resource activities and collaboration across the sales team to include the account managers, solution architects, professional services Engagement manager and Commercial sales

-Build and develop business in aligned territory.  This could include: developing solution collateral to be used by sales or presales, building regional or national partnerships and associated go to market strategy, educating peer groups within Quest, etc.

-Lead/assist in coordination and oversee all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity such as customer meetings and product presentations, demonstrations and evaluations

-Manage technical documentation such as business and technical requirements and presales architectural assessment.

-Assess each sales opportunity to determine the appropriate next steps in the sales cycle based on skill set, requirements, availability and sales strategy

-Create and maintain trusted advisor relationship with key stakeholders in account portfolio throughout the sales cycle and post-sales to ensure success and growth of Quest solutions

-Update and coach Account Managers on GTM messaging and new product offerings on an ongoing basis so they are aware of upcoming offerings, cross-selling opportunities and competitive information

-Maintain proactive ongoing regular communication with associated sales team on activities such as one-on-one account and opportunity briefings, Regional Sales Manager team meetings, product, acquisition and other relevant product news updates

-Maintain broad (story/use cases) and deep (product demo and POC) knowledge of the Quest Platform Management solution suite

-Maintain working knowledge of industry trends, common customer expectations, and competition

-Participation in internal corporate initiatives to further enhance the solution suites, presales/sales enablement and professional growth


-8+ years of enterprise IT solution design, pre-sales, channel pre-sales, working with SI

-Excellent presentation, business, analytical, problem solving and communication skills, written and verbal with ability to effectively communicate with business and IT individuals at all levels of the customers’ organization

-Travel flexibility up to 50% once COVID travel restrictions are lifted

-Effective and analytical approach to problem solving

-Strong written and oral communication skills

-Keep up to date with emerging technologies

-Successfully delivers POCs or Pilots

-UG / PG / Engineering or equivalent work experience



Technical Skills & Experience 

-Good Understanding & knowledge on these technologies like Microsoft Platform ( Including Recovery Scenarios), SQL, Azure, AWS for preparing Solutions for Customers

-Demonstrated ability to successfully and proactively execute activities: response to customer questions and RFP/RFI, product demo, trial evaluation and installation effectively communicating the business and technical value and architecture of large cross-domain technical solutions

-Simple presentation, Good written and verbal communication skills is mandatory

-Ability to handle and drive Incident Review bridges by identifying potential Problems; recommend solutions to be implemented

-Customer facing, technical troubleshooting experience, including at customer sites and remote interactions.

-Advanced knowledge with authentication technologies, including federation, SSO and multi-factor


Knowledge & Experience

-Should have good working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD, Exchange, O365, SQL Server, SharePoint (understand, configure, administer Windows infrastructure components such as Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, etc.), including design and deployment in 10,000+ user environments

-Hands on experience with AD, Azure, Microsoft 365, Team’s and or SharePoint mandatory

-Ability to formulate SQL queries considered favourably

-Ability to write VB and PowerShell and or .NET considered favourably

-Experience in Governance, Risk and Compliance concepts and practices with specific knowledge/experience in access governance, identity administration, user activity monitoring and privileged access

-Experience with ERP/CRM solutions considered favourably

-Knowledge of a mixed range of platforms (UNIX, AS400, RAC/F, Linux, etc) considered favourably

-To have previously been an AD Administrator and or a Microsoft Exchange Administrator also considered favourably

-Understanding/ Knowledge on Industry Standard Packaging, deployment, patching Solutions and Windows Automated Installation Kit (WAIK) tools 

-Understanding of IT/System Inventory, Asset Management, Software Distribution, Software License Management, Patch Management and Service Desk Ticketing Workflow Process 

-Understanding of tools which does System Investigation, analysis and mechanisms for preventing such reoccurrences 


Networking (DHCP, DNS, vLAN on Switch/Router & DMZ on Firewall)

-Good Understanding and sound knowledge on networking



-Microsoft O.S, AD & Azure Certifications, -Architect level Azure/Active Directory. AWS and GSuite experience 

-Any Asset/Patch Management Software Pre-Sales / Deployment 

-Any Service Desk Software Pre-Sales / Deployment 

-ITIL Certification 

-Direct work experience with Quest / Binary Tree/ Metalogix solutions will be addl. advantage

-Asset and Patch Management Understanding and Vulnerability
